SEISMIC ALERT: BROMYARD, HEREFORDSHIRE 18:06 UTC 26 OCTOBER 2008 3.6 ML
BGS have received a number of reports from residents in the Herefordshire area of a felt event this evening at 18:06 UTC. Felt reports described "a thump as if someone had jumped off the bed upstairs" and "loud boom noise as though something extremely heavy had fallen on the wood floor above my head". The strength of the shaking has been described as moderate, enough to make furniture shake and windows or crockery rattle. Some reports indicate that people were woken from sleep and a few were frightened.
