SEISMIC ALERT: LOCHAILORT, HIGHLAND 21 AUGUST 2011 08:37 UTC 2.9 ML
BGS have received several reports, mostly from hamlets around Lochailort, Glenfinnan and Acharacle, Highland region, of a felt event this morning at around 09:40 BST (08:40 UTC). Reports described "initially, like a very heavy boulder had been dropped from a height, followed by rumbling and shaking for a few seconds" and "there was a bang and then a rumbling, almost like a distant explosion".
