SEISMIC ALERT:  ISLE OF ISLAY, ARGYLL & BUTE 29 FEBRUARY 2012 09:14 UTC 2.7 ML and 09:25 UTC 2.0 ML

BGS have received many reports from residents of the Isle of Islay of two events today at 09:14 UTC and 09:25 UTC.  The reports described " We have had another one which seemed to be bigger than last time. House trembled from side to side, then we had an aftershock five minutes or so later" and "rushing of wind sound, noticeably loud enough to suspect a very large heavy track moving vehicle had just arrived in our farm courtyard.  This also shook the tin sheeted roof of our largest 150 yr old barn".  The following preliminary information is available for these earthquakes:
