| Description: | Established in 25 April 1989, Ataturk University Earthquake Research Center monitors earthquakes in Eastern Anatolia, Turkey since 1995. The seismic activity first monitored by single component mechanical seismographs, procured from Russia, in the province of Erzurum untill 1999 when first broadband seismometres were started to be installed in Eastern Anatolia. At present, the Center monitors real time seismic activity by continuous data from 21 three component broadband stations. |
