Description: | Objective: Temporary deployment of 8 6-channel K2 instruments (3 episensor, 3 short-period velocity) at 10 sites in Gujarat, India. Instruments recorded in triggered mode. More than 2000 aftershocks were recorded with magnitudes as high as 5.3 on scale, at epicentral distances from 0 to ~120 km. Preliminary results: Aftershocks reveal a probable rupture plane that dips southward, and strikes roughly E-W, and is about 40 km along strike at the shallowest edge, and 20 km along strike at the deepest edge. Preliminary aftershock depths range from ~5km to ~35 km. |
