Description: | The Institute of Geology of the Karelian Research Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences was founded on May 18, 1961. Currently, the main scientific areas of research are: structure, composition, conditions of formation, evolution of the lithosphere of the Fennoscandian Shield and global correlations of the Precambrian; minerageny, mineral resources of Karelia; neotectonics, seismicity and geoecology of the northwest of Russia. Geophysics laboratory staff are engaged in the processing of seismological digital data using continuous streams of information from four seismic stations of the IG KarRC RAS. |
